One Month Down, Eleven to Go!

Tappy's Yogurt! Yum!! Check it out!

This year is not only about learning to take better photographs, but also to explore the related software. Sometimes an image just needs a little boost to give it the final look.

This week's theme was "odd one out".

A view I see several times a day, 180 days a year

"The fact is, sometimes it's really hard to walk in a single woman's shoes. That's why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun."~Carrie, Sex and the City

Hehe...and imagine the big silver earrings. It's an outfit that makes me giggle.

Week 3ish

23/365No matter what I tried today...it just didn't suit me. The sunset, keyboard, and Rebel XT. Nothing seemed to work. Since my fingers spend many hours in this location, it's still kind of fitting.

22/365
A super meal after work! Cheese fries, hamburger, and ice cold beverage with a friend. When I have a heart attack remind me of how good this tasted on a Friday night!

21/365
The theme this week was "clutter". This definitely qualifies as clutter, since I do not even have a device in my home or in my car that will play them. Why do I still hold on to these tapes? It just doesn't seem right to purchase Sylvia on itunes, if she's even there.

Can you guess this object?

This was a try at "Light Trails". Thanks to a tutorial, I was able to attempt the settings in Manual mode. It was pretty interesting. The image was actually created from the glow of a stereo display. I was amused!

Experiments with Color

17/365
When I was thinking of the caption for this photo the lyrics of this song continued to repeat in my mind.

Oh the Glory of it all is:
he came here
for the rescue of us all
that we may live
for the glory of it all

oh he is here
for redemption from the fall
that we may live
for the glory of it all
oh the glory of it all
the glory of it all
oh the glory of it all
--from "The Glory of it All", David Crowder Band

This was an effort at creativity using some of the silly things laying around my apartment. One might also argue that I attempted to use the manual vs. automatic focus feature!

Two Weeks and Counting

15/365
14/365
I noticed earlier in the week that the odometer was nearing this significant number. As luck would have it, the numbers "rolled over" to this count just as I pulled into the parking lot on Thursday morning. It was still dark, so the numerals created a glowing account of the miles I've traveled and memories made on the road throughout the last 46 months.

Hehe! I went adventure eating with some friends. Shortly into the excursion I realized that I must take a photo quickly or it wasn't going to happen. I grabbed the camera, captured the objects in front of me, and called it a day. I pressed the shutter only once, so it had to do.

Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32

I couldn't decide between these, so day 9 has 2! I'm sure the cable provider received many calls during the game when the HD channel displayed this screen! A crime in Valley Ranch! It did create a few moments to watch Lori and Jet exchange some loving stares. Go Cowboys!

Six through Eight

6/365I remember memorizing the 23rd Psalm with Nana as a child. We would talk about and practice reciting verses in the evenings, as we prepared for bed. This passage not only holds truths, but also fond memories. The photo was taken from a King James Version that I received in 1984 from Grandaddy. My full name is inscribed on the front of the Bible, maybe it was the beginning of "JMM". This is my favorite shot from this set!

7/365After months of being in my fridge, these drinks are finally dwindling down. However, on Day 7 the 7-UP cans seemed like a good subject.

8/365
This was another tough day to get the photo in. I even set an alarm while I feel asleep on the couch. I successfully resisted the temptation and headache to prevent being defeated this early in the game!

365 Project

I have embarked on a 365 project. It started on 1-1-10. The challenge: Take a photo every day for one year. The goal: learn more about my camera and get better shots over time.

I know it's going to be a journey. Day 1-3 was fairly easy, but day 4, and it was only day 4!...was tough. This kind of concerned me, but now I have been energized by day 5. My plan is to shoot everyday and post about once a week. To keep it reasonable, I’ve given myself few limitations. I’m super interested in where this adventure might lead.
